Details

Restorative Winter Yin will relax your mind, calm your nervous system and release any knots and blocks you may be holding through your body. Facia, your connective tissue, not only weaves your muscles together, it also holds stress and emotional memories. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Yogic healing lineages, they discovered specific lines of life force energy that flow through connective tissue in accordance with corresponding organs and their specific emotions. These lines of energy are referred to as Meridians or Nadis. Utilising Yin asanas which are held for 1 - 10 minutes depending on your desired outcome, you will be supported to mindfully release stuck emotional memories from your connective tissue. As we are now in Winter it is vital to care and tap into the Winter lines which are connected to the Kidneys & Bladder and can be holding fear. Issues relating to hearing, eye health, balance and adrenal fatigue are just some of the many ailments that can be restored through this holistic mind-body healing practice during the Winter months. Due to this holistic method of release, Restorative Yin yoga not only works to prevent physical illness, but mental illness too. The body being a reflection of the mind. As you release the mind, the body releases with it. A flexible body is an indication of a flexible mind. Each class will take you through a sequence of gentle Yin Yoga asanas, Yogic breath-work techniques and mindfulness practices to balance the Winter meridians and their corresponding organs and emotions. ~ Suitable for beginners to advanced Yogis, 13+ ~ Wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing. ~ Avoid eating a heavy meal before hand. ~ Waiver to be signed prior to your first class. ~ Mats, props and blocks are available for use.
